Search tips for using the library's discovery interface, DiscoverSML

Saving results to My Library Account

  • Click the bookmark icon next to each record that you want to save to My Library Account.
  • Note that you must be logged in to save items to your account to retrieve later- a popup box will remind you to login if you have not already done so.
  • To save multiple results at once, check each box at the left and click on the bookmark icon at the top right of the results pane.

Search Results

The search results display brief records that match your search query. Information displayed here will help you quickly determine if the record is relevant you your search. Depending on the type of resource that is displayed, the brief record can include:

  • Material type format
  • Title, Author, publication information
  • Availability and location information
  • Quick access buttons to download/view the full-text of an online resource 
  • A descriptive snippet with relevant information.

You'll also find record action icons for each record:

  • Share Options
    • Displays a list of ways to get a link to the record including email record, permalink, and displaying a QR code that you can scan with your phone.
  • Citation Generator 
    • Opens the Citation Generator tool that formats a citation for the record in various styles including APA, Chicago, MLA, and others.
  • Export Options 
    • Displays ways to export record information out of DiscoverUR including print record, export to Excel, and export RIS and EndNote Web for citation mangers (ie. Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley).
  • Bookmark 
    • Allows you to save the record for later retrieval. See the Saving results to My Library Account section for more information.
