Searching Articles, Books, & More: Requesting Items In Other UR Libraries

This guide gives you basic information about how Summon works to find things owned by University of Rochester Libraries

Requesting Items In Other UR Libraries

When searching the library catalog, if you are in Sibley, you may find results for materials that are in collections of other University of Rochester Libraries (e.g., Rush Rhees Library, Miner Medical Library, Charlotte Whitney Allen/Memorial Art Gallery Library). These are the steps to take in order to request these items to be delivered to Sibley for you to pick up.

This guide was prepared by Prof. Lucy Durkin, Instructor of Art History.

Important!

Please do not be confused by the option to use ILL (Interlibrary Loan), if the item is available.

Click on the ILL-Sibley link only if the item is listed as missing or damaged. This will bring you to an ILL request page.

Step 8

You will get an email confirmation that your request has been received, and will be notified by email when the book has arrived at Sibley.

Pick up your materials at the main Circulation Desk. You will need to do this for EACH item you request.
